The Benefits to Using Sod

The common question in many households is whether to use seed or sod to grow the perfect lawn, especially as the spring nears and more attention is placed on the yard. To help you decide, we’ve put together three benefits to using sod:

Instant Lawn.

Or as we like to say, “Real Grass, Real Fast.” By sodding your lawn, you can enjoy a beautiful, new lawn much easier and quicker than you could if you used seed.

Less Water.

Seed requires much more maintenance and irrigation when installed, whereas sod, once established, won’t dry out as fast and thus requires less water to stay moist.

Immediate Use.

You can gently use your sodded lawn immediately after installation, which is not the case when your lawn is seeded. It can take weeks for seed to begin showing results, and even still, you can’t use the seeded lawn area, as the blades will still be delicate. While it is best to wait roughly four weeks to fully use a sodded lawn, immediate gentle use is permissible.
